Last weekend, Gary's grandpa turned 90! His grandma also celebrated her 86th birthday earlier this month, so their children planned a special birthday celebration for both of them at their church in Arkadelphia. Gary, Elliott and I arrived in Arkadelphia Saturday night in time to meet the family at a local Italian restaurant. After dinner, all of the adults sat in a circle at his grandparent's house while Elliott entertained us all, and boy did he put on a show!
Sunday afternoon was the big party. They had a wonderful turn out. Gary and I enjoyed getting to see some of our old Ouachita professors and introduce them to our sweet boy. Meemaw and Pawpaw stood for a solid two hours greeting guests as they came though a reception line. They sure have made an impact on the community of Arkadelphia in their lifetimes!

^^ Gary and E with his (Gary's) sister, Gina. ^^
^^ Elliott ate my entire piece of cake...^^
^^ Elliott sat in Gary's Uncle Bill's lap for a good 20-30 minutes playing with his iPhone and flashlight. ^^

^^ Elliott and his great grandpa. ^^

^^ It took multiple shots to get a good one of all of us. I thought this outtake was particularly funny. ^^
Since I know Meemaw and Pawpaw are faithful blog readers, we're so happy to have been a part of your birthday celebration. You have both left such a wonderful legacy during your lifetime. You kids, grandkids, and great grandkids sure have some big shoes to fill!
